Ribble Valley Music Festival presents a 'Glorious Summer Classic'

--

To be performed Sunday 18th June 2017 from 2 pm until 4 pm in St Leonard's Church, Downham Village, near Clitheroe, Lancashire

An idyllic summer afternoon of music in this beautiful location will include a landmark performance by the Stonebridge String Quartet of the five movement Forest of Bowland Suite composed by Chris Gibbs celebrating the Bowland area of outstanding natural beauty (the final movement is appropriately entitled "Moon over Downham") performed by the Stonebridge String Quartet, together with an earlier work of his, Music for String Quartet. The Quartet will also play a short piece by their leader, Roland Fudge, who is a colleague of Chris in the Lakeland Composers group. The composer will be in attendance to discuss his inspiration which captures the beauty of various locations in the area. The prestigious Preston Opera Company will also be performing a selection of popular arias, duets and choruses.

This event is part of the Ribble Valley Music Festival. Advance booking recommended. Contact: Clive Greenwood Tel: 01254 384893 or email info@ribblevalleymusic.co.uK
