David Jennings was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1972. He started to compose music at the age of 12. He read Music at Durham University with John Casken and went on to Manchester University to study composition at postgraduate level, again with John Casken.
Between 1995 and 2005, David combined teaching with composing. He worked as Head of Music at The Hampshire Schools, Knightsbridge, London between 1998 and 2000. He is currently building up a list of works ranging from piano miniatures to large orchestral works. David's music is regularly played in concert and details of these performances are available on his website.
