Roland Fudge
Roland Fudge, born 1947, began composing seriously after starting violin lessons at the age of 13. After graduating from Birmingham University (taught by Gordon Crosse and John Joubert) he specialised in violin at the Royal Academy of Music.
His subsequent career as a string quartet player and then teacher of violin and viola left little time for composing. In recent years his original ambition has regained its central place and he is beginning to establish a reputation as a composer with individuality and skill, helped by his wide experience of performing and teaching.
